Demolition of the former Salvation Army Hostel at York Street, Dublin 2, for McNamara & Co. During this work York Street was fully operational and the College of Surgeons operated as usual.

Demolition of two Dublin City Council flat complex buildings at Summerhill, Dublin, for Bracegrade Ltd. This work necessitated the use of high reach munching equipment to reduce the noise element because of neighbouring occupied flats. The demolition was carried out in stages to accommodate the vacant possession of the buildings.

 

November 2002 – February 2003

Staged demolition of buildings at the junction of Walkinstown Avenue and Longmile Road for Motor Distributors. Including the dismantling and removal of disused cranes. The site was prepared as a car park.

 

November 2002 – May 2003

Demolition of former Dakota Printing factory at Cross Guns Bridge, Phibsborough for South Dublin Construction. Also including attendance on piling contractor and excavation.

 

October 2002 – January 2003

Staged excavation and temporary works (including design) at Skehan House, Booterstown for TBD Building Contractors.

 

September 2002

The design and installation of a top-down wall and trench sheet earth retention system at Cookstown Court, Dublin 24, for P Elliott & Co. Building Contractors.

 

August - September 2002

The removal of internal walls, partitions, floor coverings, suspended ceilings and all fixtures and fittings from a listed building on Bow Street, Dublin, for BURNS Building Contractors.

Demolition of disused industrial buildings on a site at Fitzwilliam Quay, Dublin 4, for TBD Building Contractors. This project also includes the installation of a trench sheet earth retention system.

 

July 2002

The demolition of disused buildings at the Irish Wheelchair Association, for BURNS Building Contractors.

 

June 2002 - August 2002

Demolition of the old Forum Cinema at Glasthule, Dun Laoghaire. This work was carried for the developer and involved the demolition of a building facing directly onto the main street in Glasthule Village with occupied buildings around the perimeter.

 

June 2002

The clearing out and filling of voids to the front of Castle Billiards, Drimnagh. These voids were left open following the removal of underground fuel storage tanks. They had filled with water and had various pieces of debris thrown into them. We pumped them out, cleared the debris and filled them with compacted hardcore leaving a previously dangerous site safe.

 

May 2002

Demolition of an extension to a building in Monkstown Cresent, County Dublin, for Pierse Building Services. This work included the propping of the rear wall and subsequent removal of structural elements to allow for remodelling of the building. Excavation to the rear of the house was done to allow for the construction of a new room at lower ground level. All soil and debris had to be removed through a rear lane before being loaded onto trucks.

 

May 2002

The demolition of the 'Link Building' at Trinity hall, Dartry, Dublin 6, for Michael McNamara & Co. The building to be demolished was a two storey student dormitory building connected to two listed Georgian buildings, one at each end. As well as the listed buildings there were mature trees on the site listed for preservation and all of the demolition was completed successfully.

 

May 2002

The demolition of an extension to the rear of 33 Leeson Street, Dublin 4, for P Elliott & Co. This work was hampered by the lack of access and the demolition had to be undertaken by hand with all debris taken out from the site through a back lane to be loaded onto lorries at Leeson Park.

 

March 2002 - June 2002

Selective demolition at the Dublin Corporation Car Park at Drury Street Dublin 2 for Tolmac Construction. This work included the design and installation of a temporary works system that allowed structural elements of the building to be removed while allowing both the construction of a new stairwell and the continued use of the car park.

Underpinning, temporary propping and excavation for Mr. Colm McGreal at 7 Sydenham Road, Ballsbridge.

Selective internal demolition and gutting out at Findlaters Wine Vaults, Harcourt Street for Clancourt Management.

 

January 2002 - June 2002

Demolition of old Maguire and Patterson premises and an Apartment building at Church Street and Hammond Lane, Dublin 7, for the Office of Public Works. This project also included the design and erection of temporary propping to an occupied dwelling at No. 2 Hammond Lane.

 

November 2001- February 2002

Selective demolition, underpinning and temporary supports (including design) for Tolmac Construction at High Park School, Grace Park Road, Drumcondra.

 

November 2001 - May 2002
Demolition, temporary works, enabling works, bulk excavation and architectural salvage at St. Mary's Church, Mary Street, Dublin 1 for PJ Walls Ltd. As this is a listed building all salvage had to be carried out under the supervision of a conservationist with all materials removed to a nominated store. The bulk excavation element was carried out in a very busy part of town with considerable pedestrian traffic and increased congestion due to the nature of the shopping area around the site. This excavation was carried out in stages to allow for the new construction.
