Demolition of the former premises at Kilmainham Motors, Dublin 8, including the demolition and removal of various industrial buildings as well as the installation of sheet piling and the bulk excavation. This project was carried out for Curraghbeg Limited.

 

October 2003 - January 2004

Demolition of the former Balbrigan Town Hall and adjacent buildings at George’s Square, Balbrigan for the Moriarty Group through Denis Rooney Associates. This job was carried out right in the centre of a busy town and includes work directly adjacent to the Carnegie Library, a listed building.

 

September-November 2003

Demolition of a dangerous building and installation of temporary propping at 25 Thomas Street, Dublin 8 for the Digital Hub through Atkins project managers and engineers. This work had to be carried out using cranes and MEWPS (mobile elevated working platforms) as the building had been structurally damaged by fire and had been condemned by Dublin City Council Dangerous Building Department.

 

September-October 2003

Demolition of the St. Judes flat complex at Railway Street, Beaver Street, Dublin 1 for Townlink Construction. This work was carried out using the high reach machine and muncher directly adjacent to occupied flats and houses.

 

August-September 2003

Demolition of the old Canal Bar and adjacent warehouse building at Long’s Place, Pim Street, Dublin 8 for SINI Holdings through Downes Associates.

 

August-October 2003

Selective internal demolition including structural propping within the ground floor and basement of a building on Mary Street, Dublin 1 for PJ Walls. This work was carried out while the apartments above were occupied.

Demolition of a building on Grange Road, Dublin 14 for Fortfield Construction.

Installation of an earthwork support system including the propping of a listed gate structure and the shoring of a listed church building at Newmarket Square, Dublin 8 for Mc Cabe builders. This project also included the bulk excavation and removal as well as the blinding and drainage work.

Demolition of Donore Garages, Cork Street, Dublin for DN Smyth and Associates.

Demolition of building on Corporation Street (now James Joyce Street), Dublin 1 for Mc Cabe builders. This project also included the bulk excavation and the laying of all drains and services carried out over a number of periods.

 

May-July 2003

Demolition of a link corridor at Organon, Swords, for PJ Walls, building contractors. This was a steel framed building and the work had to be carried out within the factory complex, immediately adjacent to a series of operational rooms while the factory was open.

The removal of the interior of a listed building in the Coombe, Dublin 8 for Bracegrade Limited. The interior of this building, three storeys high, had collapsed and all of the work had to be carried out using a crane and man-basket.

Demolition of building within the yard of the Catholic University School, Leeson Street, Dublin 2 for John G Burns Construction. This work was carried out while the school was open.

Demolition of 27-32 Talbot Street for Bennett Construction. This work was carried out while Talbot Street remained open.

Demolition of former Bio Resources and Map Library at Trinity College Dublin for Michael McNamara & Co. This project also included the excavation and removal of approximately 13,000 m3 of material from the site as well as the blinding of the exposed formation, the pumping and drainage installation.
